Angelo Dagostino Angelo hails from Chicago, Illinois. He started skating at the age of 11 on an outdoor frozen lake in Glen Ellyn, IL. At the age of 17 and after outgrowing his small hometown ice rink, Angelo moved to New York to train. To refine his skating skills, Angelo moved to Colorado Springs to train at the famous Broadmoor Skating Club with internationally known coaches Carlo and Christa Fassi. He also studied figures with Christie Krall and spins with Janet Champion. Competing nationally and
internationally for 10 years, Angelo made his name in the skating world. His
competitions took him from one end of the globe to the other. In 1986, Angelo placed
high at nationals, second only to Brian Boitano in the free skate event. In 1988 he
was alternate for the 1988 USFSA Olympic team competing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
In 1988 Angelo also out skated Kurt Browning and Alexander Fadeev to win the NHK
Cup in Tokyo, Japan with a dazzling free skate performance. Angelo has had the
opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers Sandra Bezic and Sarah Kawahara.
After his competitive days,
Angelo toured nationally and internationally with the Ice Capades for 4 years performing
in China, Mexico, Canada and the United States. He performed for 2 more years doing
freelance work for different producers. With the induction of the
Moves In The Field into the USFSA test structure, Angelo traveled back to
Colorado Springs to study the moves in the field with Christie Krall who helped to invent
the program. Angelo subsequently passed all of his moves in the field tests through
the Gold level. Angelo loves to teach all levels of skaters and loves the learning process along the way.
